History of guzzi moto's.

Between 1920 and 1940, Moto Guzzi established itself as a leading motorcycle manufacturer in Italy. The company was founded in 1921 by Emanuele Vittorio Parodi, his son Giorgio, and Carlo Guzzi, a former comrade of Parodi's in the Italia Air Corps. The company's first motorcycle, the 8 HP Normale, was followed by successful models such as the Norge and the Airone 250. Moto Guzzi also achieved numerous racing successes, including 14 world GP championships and 11 Tourist Trophies before withdrawing from motorsports in 1957.

During the 1950s and 1960s, Moto Guzzi continued to produce successful models such as the Guzzino 65, the Galletto, and the Lodola 175, with the former becoming Europe's best-selling motorcycle for over a decade. The company also established a wind tunnel, making it the first worldwide constructor to do so. Its racing division, comprised of brilliant engineers, created legendary models like the Guzzi Otto Cilindri. In the late 1960s, Moto Guzzi introduced the 90° V-twin engine, which became the symbol of the company and powered models like the V7, V7 Special, and V7 Sport, as well as the California, Ambassador, and Eldorado variants. The sports heritage of the marque continued through models like the Le Mans, Daytona, Centauro, and Sport 1100, which were updated in the 1990s with new series like the California, Nevada, and V11 Sport.

In the early 2000s, Moto Guzzi was acquired by the Piaggio Group, which is a major player in the two-wheeler market. In 2005, Moto Guzzi launched the Breva 1100 and Griso 1100, which were both well-received by the market. The following year, the Norge 1200 was introduced, marking Moto Guzzi's return to the Gran Turismo genre. In 2006, Moto Guzzi held the fourth edition of GMG ('Giornate Mondiali Guzzi' - World Guzzi Days) in Mandello del Lario, which was attended by 15,000 Guzzisti from over 20 different countries. The same year, Moto Guzzi achieved success in the Battle of Twins at the Daytona circuit with Gianfranco Guareschi winning both heats. This success led to the creation of the 1200 Sport, which was a sophisticated naked bike.

In 2007, Moto Guzzi unveiled several new models, including the Griso 8V, Bellagio, and Stelvio. The Griso 8V was an evolution of the Griso 1100, and the Bellagio was a custom bike powered by an oversquare 940 cc engine. The Stelvio was a large street enduro with an evocative name. Moto Guzzi also held the Giornate Mondiali Moto Guzzi event in 2007, which was attended by cinema star Ewan McGregor. McGregor came to Mandello del Lario to collect his white California Vintage, which he had purchased a few months previously when filming scenes for his adventure TV show Long Way Down at the Guzzi factory. At EICMA 2007, Moto Guzzi unveiled the Stelvio 1200 and the V7 Classic. The Stelvio 1200 was presented to the international press in March 2008, while the V7 Classic was tested by journalists in Milan in May of the same year.

In 2013, Moto Guzzi celebrated 50 years of the V7 model with the release of the V7 Stone, a new version of the classic bike with a minimalist style and a more modern and reliable engine. The V7 Stone was an immediate success, attracting a new generation of riders to the Moto Guzzi brand. In the same year, Moto Guzzi also introduced the California 1400 Custom, a more stripped-down version of the California 1400 Touring with a more aggressive and muscular look. The Custom featured a lower seat, drag handlebars, and a shorter windscreen than the Touring model.

In 2014, Moto Guzzi introduced the V7 Racer II, a new version of the popular V7 Racer that celebrated the classic café racer style with a new red frame, aluminum fuel tank, and black leather seat. The V7 Racer II also featured a new dual-channel ABS system and a revised 750cc engine with improved performance and fuel economy. 2015 saw the introduction of the MGX-21, a bold new take on the touring motorcycle with a futuristic, almost sci-fi-inspired design. The MGX-21 was powered by the same 1400cc engine as the California 1400 and featured a unique carbon fiber front fairing and saddlebags, as well as an advanced infotainment system. In 2016, Moto Guzzi celebrated its 95th anniversary with the introduction of the limited-edition V7 III Anniversario. The Anniversario featured a distinctive green and silver livery inspired by the iconic 1975 V750 S3 and was powered by an updated 750cc engine with improved performance and reduced emissions.

The V7 III range was also expanded in 2017 with the introduction of the V7 III Stone, V7 III Special, and V7 III Racer models. All three bikes featured a number of updates and improvements, including a new six-speed transmission, revised engine mapping, and improved handling and suspension.

The California Touring and Custom models by Moto Guzzi combine modern technology with classic style and craftsmanship, including features such as multimap Ride by Wire accelerator, cruise control, MGCT traction control system, and two-channel ABS. Hand-built in the Mandello del Lario plant, the attention to detail makes each California model unique and powerful, appealing to a passionate and exclusive clientele. In 2017, Moto Guzzi introduced the V7 III, the third generation of the iconic motorcycle that has been a best-seller since 2009. The V7 III is available in three versions: Stone, Special, and Racer, each with unique design and characteristics, along with a fourth limited edition Anniversario version to celebrate 50 years of the V7 model.
